Why is billiards called pool?
I would like to know why billiards is more commonly know as " pool" ..why have we changed the name.?
How to remember where the contact point on the the object ball is in billiards/pool?
I line up the object ball to the pocket and know that the contact point is dead center, but as I move away to the left or right, I lose that point unless I have something physical that I can affix it to.Any tips? Or is there an easier way to visualize the contact point without being in line with the pocket?
Is there a special person's billiards league?
I have a client who enjoys shooting 8 ball pool and is fairly decent. He's been asking me about forming a league and I was wondering if such a league already existed. Any info?

If there's a place like a billiards/bar/restaurant...are people under 21 allowed to go there?
I have this weird urge to wanna know how to play pool...lol. I've been looking at some places on Google and most of them are bars so I figured that they wouldn't let people under 21 in there. I saw a couple that are restaurants and bars AND billiards places...so I thought maybe you could get in there and just eat at the restaurant and play pool if you aren't 18.There's only like one of them with a phone number, so obviously if more of them had numbers I'd call and ask. Buuuut if you could give me your opinion I'd appreciate it. " If you aren't 18..." I meant if you aren't 21. lol.

What is the name of the billiards game in which there are two balls, and the cue ball must be banked a certain number of times before contacting the second ball?
Help me on billiard, experts?
I have been playing billiard for some time but haven't got any fancy and skillful stuffs like setting the balls, and few techniques applied when I was playing, now I got some few questions after seeing my friends play,1. How do you do a proper break shot? By proper I mean that tlhe ball would really spread out, is there some techniques needed? As when I do one, even with all my power I still can't get to spread it out, some still stays in the center.2. how do you do a back spin? My friend told me to hit on the bottom part of the ball, but it always get messed up like sometimes the ball jumped, or the ball only stops not moving back 3. How do you measure where your ball will go when you bounce it to the walls of the billiard table, I mean like when you get snooked, you have to bounce your white ball on the walls of the billiard table before you can hit the targeted ball right?I would really appreciate thorough answers thx
